Emotional Freedom Technique
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or Tapping is a fourth wave therapy. It combines elements of mind body work, memory re-consolidation, exposure therapy, polyvagal work, induction of cognitive shifts.
When doing Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) clients learn to tap on pressure points that correspond to energy meridians from Eastern Medicine.
Research has shown that when those points are tapped on activation in the brain region called the amygdala (often called the mind's smoke detector) decreases. This enables the prefrontal cortex region of the brain to stay engaged and work on stressful issues.
EFT has been shown to be highly effective for PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, food cravings, and more.
More and more people are familiar with EFT through self help apps and videos. Mark will teach clients how to use EFT as an effective coping response and use clinical EFT to work through major therapeutic problems in therapy sessions
